What does it mean to be a “Christian?”
Many in this world are searching for God. If you are one of them, we would like to share with you how to have a personal relationship with God. Take a look at the following verses from God’s Word, the Bible…..
God loves you
For God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16
But God showed His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8
All have sinned
For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. – Romans 3:10
The remedy for sin
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. – Romans 6:23
But as many as received him, to them he gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. – John 1:12
Now all can be saved
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. – Romans 10:13
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come into him. – Revelation 3:20
But these are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing you might have life through his name. – John 20:31
Recieve God’s gift of salvation
- Admit you are a sinner
- Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins.
- Receive His gift.
Many choose to respond to God through prayer – though a simple prayer does not save you. Prayer is simply communication with God. Use your own words, there is no special format. Just pray from your heart and put your trust upon Jesus, who is able to save. Here is a sample prayer to help you understand:
Dear Lord, I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Amen. –Sample Prayer
What do I do next?
1. Tell someone about your decision to follow God.

2. Find a church
We encourage you to find a local Bible-believing church where you can find support to grow in your faith and personal relationship with God.
3. Be confident in your salvation.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. – Romans 10:9-10
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. – John 5:24
