Great news Jason. I'm glad to hear you are able to deal with a christian agency also.

Out of curiosity, do you (or CAN you) go back to visit the boys again before the process is finished? Or is this a 'go and pick them up and come home' type thing when the final papers and court date are done?

Steve
Going back to visit is not something that we have talked about. I suppose that it might be possible, but it would ultimately be up to the director of the childrens home(s). It would also be pretty cost prohibative.
$2000 each for airline tickets. $250/day for food and lodging. Plus ground transportation and an interpreter.
Plus the time off of work. I'm out of vac until July and by the time I get vac, we should be on the downhill stretch. We've also been trying to conserve vac as much as possible, to be able to spend as much time as possible with the boys once they are home.

Haven't updated you all for a while.
Yesterday we sent the last document that we had to collect to our Agency. It only took four tries to get it completed correctly. It was a Dr's license and the issues were anywhere form the license expiring, to not being notorized to being notorized with out it dated. Anyway, we got it and got it sent on. The agency is still wiating on one document from our home study agency and then those tow will get sent on to Russia. Everythign else is over there being translated now. July 28th is the target date to get everything submitted to the courts. They'll review stuff for around two months and then we'll have the Russian court date around a month after that. After the court date there' s 10 day waiting period before we get legal possesion of the boys.
We did find out that we are the first family that may be able to complete an adoption in this particular region since this whole situation arose back in April. We're not sure what that really means and if it could take more time or if it may go quicker.
A couple of things to pray for.
1) If there is paperwork that has to be re-done, we can get that completed quickly.
2) Everything in the Russian courts will progress wihtout delays so we can get these two boys home.

We will continue to keep praying for you guys. There was a special on the Des Moines news station last night about a family going through the adoption process with two Russian children and I immediately thought about and prayed for you guys. I'm sure the paperwork is a difficult process so I am glad to hear you are making your way through all that. You have always had such a great outlook and attitude through all this, I admire that. Thanks for the update.

The paperwork is all translated into Russian and should be in Russia in a few days. Best guess is that it would be submitted to the courts a couple of weeks after that. Then it will be at least a couple of months until a court date. I've been waffling on buying an Early MZ tag, but I think I'll go ahead and get it. If I dont' use it oh well, it'll be well worth it to miss a season.
