Become an Outreach Outdoors' Team Member
  • What does it take to become a team member with Outreach Outdoors?
    • Great question! We have been receiving emails and recently been asked this question. Up until now, we've been able to talk face-to-face with our prospective team members. However, with recent additions from Michigan and Kentucky, the Outreach Outdoors' Team is growing far beyond the big buck state borders of Iowa. With that in mind (and being a goal of ours), we are forced to take a look at a few guidelines as to what it means to be an Outreach Outdoors filming team member.
  • Passion for faith and the outdoors
    • That is what we are all about - using hunting and the outdoors to challenge Christians to live a life of purpose while also sharing Jesus Christ with non-believers.
  • Be like us, but don't be like us....what?
    • As far as the video component goes, we need team members to be like us in that it is crucial to get the footage we need, to use the camera we want - all so the video can have some flow and meet the requirements that we need to meet. Knowing what we now know about editing- we kind of want the footage to fit a mold so to speak.

That being said, we obviously want your personalities, characteristics, and gifts to shine through. We feel God has given you a talent and that very well may be different than ours, which is awesome! We would ask that you bring your gift to the team to add to the body that God has already started here at Outreach Outdoors.

  • What do you hunt?
    • Currently, we are filming whitetails with a bow and muzzleloader, but are not limited to just whitetails. We are open to other hunts as well such as turkey, mule deer, elk, etc.
  • Filming Hunts
    • If you would like to be on the DVD, we are asking team members to have a 3 ccd camera, such as a Canon XL1S, XL2, GL2 or a Sony PD170. Any of the new 3 ccd HD cameras would be recommended as well. This will enable us to have the high-quality footage we would need for the DVD. HOWEVER, we do have some team members using a 'handycam' model of camera. We can most certainly use that footage to put on the website for hundreds to view each day! Send us an email if you have questions on camera qualifications.

*If this is something that interests you, please send us an email or you call us at 319.415.2630 and we would be happy to talk to you and see if this is a possible fit for both of us.

*If this isn't quite what you're looking for, perhaps you have a gift that you want to bring to the team that doesn't involve actual hunting or filming, there are many other ways to get involved as well. We have over a hundred people come to our forum everyday and contribute with writing, with encouragement, finances, Bible studies, daily devotionals, teaching, land management and the list goes on and on. It is clear that God is bringing a body of believers together to do something special through this ministry. If you feel that this is something you would like to be a part of, again, send us an email or call us at 319.415.2630.

      God bless
